The Coontown Troubadour 1891
From Robert Johnson to Muddy
Waters and even the great Lightin'
Hopkin's....they all played the cigar
box guitar...Owning a Resonator was
all but a dream in poverty and playing
a Martin or Gibson was completely
out of the question!
This is a Delta field harp at it's most traditional!! This thing sings....... sold
Below is a few different types of the same guitar I like to build....I call it the Delta Blues Filed Harp and
I have made it in many different colors and wood types..but they all sing as dirty as the original.
I have built 3 of these over the years..here is one I
just finished in left hand. The photos don't do the
gold work justic..this guitar is stunning in real life!
THE LIFESAVER
This is by far the coolest cigar box guitar ever built by me.
This is an actual cigar box that was turned into a field
medic's box during world war 2.
During that time there was war rationing for the allies and
you had to make your own medics box to be a nurse and
work for the Red Cross. They most often used cigar boxes.
This white Owl cigar box was donated to me about 6 or 7
years ago by the original woman who uses it in the
battlefields of Europe.
It saved lives!
After she passed away, I saw no point in leaving it in the
back of my closet for no one to admire but me...you know
what comes next.... I beefed it up and made it into a
guitar....When people use the word "Mojo" it is usually very
generic...To have Mojo is something truly deep and very
very special...I can tell you this guitar has that real MOJO!
sorry sold...but click it and see more
